Kimi Raikkonen explained his Alfa Romeo lacked consistency after another pointless weekend in Canada.
The Finn had hoped the straights of Montreal might suit their car, but instead, a 15th place finish was all he could do in a difficult race.
“It was a tough weekend,” the 2007 world champion told Formula1.com.
“We never had enough speed and, obviously, it was a far from perfect race. Once we were in P12 or P13 then I don’t care if I finish there or last – you don’t get anything from there.
“In some laps, the car felt a bit better, on other laps we were lacking a lot of grip. It was not consistent. This weekend the speed was never there to finish in the top 10.”

Like many teams, Raikkonen says this year’s Pirelli tyres are causing a lot of headaches for the Swiss-based team but does hope updates in France can offer progress.
“We should get some new parts for the next race,” he stated.
“Hopefully that will help us to be back fighting for the points. It was not an easy weekend, we take what we got, look at what we can do and take it from there.”
Teammate Antonio Giovinazzi enjoyed a better weekend, outqualifying and out-racing Raikkonen to finish P13.
As the only non-Williams driver yet to have scored a point, however, this season, ahead of the Canadian GP he played down any possible threat from reserve and IndyCar racer Marcus Ericsson.
“I’m not worried, six races are too few to prove their worth. For now, I try to do my job well and then we’ll see,” he told Italian media.
“I trust the team and the team trusts me. I am here not because I am the son of someone or because I bring a lot of money.
“I am here because I did a good job in GP2 and in the last three years with Ferrari. I just need to have a little luck, to be able to have a linear weekend and when the car is there and I am, I am convinced that we will get a good result.”
