Red Bull have quickly brushed aside Eddie Jordan’s suggestion of pairing Max Verstappen with Lewis Hamilton.
In the break between Mugello and Sochi, the former team owner suggested both the six-time world champion and Mercedes boss Toto Wolff should depart the Brackley-based team after this season.
For Jordan, the idea of Hamilton joining Red Bull would be about a fresh challenge and proving himself superior to Verstappen, while the Anglo-Austrian outfit would be almost certain to end Mercedes’ domination.
But asked about the idea, Red Bull’s typically blunt advisor Helmut Marko had this simple response: “That would result in homicide,” he was quoted by Wheels24.com.

Team boss Christian Horner also laughed off the idea.
“I wondered what Eddie had been drinking,” he told the media in Sochi.
“Look, from a fan’s perspective he’s absolutely right, but I’ve not heard from Lewis recently, so I can only imagine he’s staying where he is.
“I think everyone wants to see Verstappen and Hamilton go head-to-head and hopefully we can give Max the tools to do that, certainly in the remaining races of this year but very much so next year and the year after.”
As for the Dutchman himself, he has been quite clear about Red Bull keeping Alex Albon for next season, though didn’t directly rule anything out.
“The only thing I’m interested in is winning the championship,” he told Motorsport.com.
Instead, he feels it would be Hamilton who’d be reluctant to make that move.
“Well, why would he do that? He also wants to win the championship, I want to win the championship,” Max added.
“He tried to, of course, be at the right team and at the moment he’s at the right team to win the championship. But, yeah, let’s see what happens.”
