Valentino Rossi has confirmed efforts are underway to arrange a MotoGP/Formula 1 swap event with Lewis Hamilton.

The six-time F1 champion has expressed interest in trying his hand on two wheels after testing a Yamaha superbike at Jerez just a week after the season finale in Abu Dhabi last year.

Recently, a possible head-to-head between Hamilton and recently crowned MotoGP champion Marc Marquez was hyped, but an event with Rossi is more likely as both share a sponsor in Monster Energy.

“Yes, we are trying to arrange this swap with Hamilton, it would be something fantastic,” the Italian legend told Crash.net.

“They are trying to organise a day when Lewis tries my M1 and I try his Mercedes. We hope to make it happen, it would be very cool.

“To drive an F1 car is always great.”

Rossi has an interesting history on four wheels, coming close to an F1 move with Ferrari back in 2007 after a number of tests with the Scuderia.

Meanwhile, Monster Energy has brought F1 and MotoGP together before with Jorge Lorenzo testing a Mercedes at Silverstone in 2017.
