Formula E chairman and founder Alejandro Agag has confirmed that the series will race on the full Monaco Grand Prix circuit next season.

Previously, the all-electric series has run on a shortened layout of the classic circuit for the Monaco ePrix, with famous sections such as the Loews Hairpin and the tunnel excluded.

However, speaking during a webcast today alongside partners ABB, Agag confirmed that the series would race on the full layout next season, having missed the race this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

“I can confirm we will run on the full track in Monaco, which is a very exciting development,” he said.

“For the first time we are going to race on the full track and it is a visible statement of how much Formula E is making progress. Until now we were only racing on the part of the track around the port.”

Agag also laid out his vision for the gen 3 cars, which will race from season 9, while ABB was confirmed as the series’ new charging technology provider.
