Toyota and Ford on top ahead of qualifying at Sebring

In the final free practice session ahead of this evenings qualifying sessions, Jose-Maria Lopez set a new unofficial LMP1 lap record at Sebring in nr7 Toyota TS 050 HYBRID with a 1m41.448s lap. 

Fernando Alonso set the fastest time in the nr8 car to again make it a Toyota Gazoo Racing 1-2, 0.6 seconds adrift of his Argentine teammate.

Dragonspeed was the first of the non hybrid LMP1 runners, with Renger van der Zande setting a 1m44.156, the best lap so far for American team racing on home turf. Rebellion Racing placed fourth and fifth as No.1 car proves fastest in hands of Neel Jani.

Ford lead the LMGTE Pro class with a 1m57.730s lap from Andy Priaulx, the British driver surviving an off track excursion early in session.  The Porsche GT Team placed second and third, with the nr92 911 RSR heading the nr91 sister car by just 0.031s.

LMP2 was headed by Jackie Chan DC Racing as Gabriel Aubry sets a 1m48.353s lap in nr38 Oreca-Gibson a tenth of a second ahead of the nr36 Signatech Alpine Matmut of Nico Lapierre by just over 0.1s.  The Racing Team Nederland Dallara continues to lap at a strong pace with Nyck de Vries lapping in 1m49.028s.

The nr77 Dempsey Proton Racing Porsche heads LMGTE Am with Matt Campbell setting the fastest class lap of 1m58.554s.  The nr88 Dempsey Proton Porsche makes it a team 1-2 as Matteo Cairoli sets time.

Paul Dalla Lana suffered an accident at final corner as he spun and hit the tyre barrier.  The nr98 Aston Martin Racing Vantage suffered some damage and triggers Full Course Yellow period to carry out barrier repairs as Dalla Lana brought the car back to the pits under its own power.

Qualifying for the 1000 Miles of Sebring is due to start at 21h30 (local) / 02h30 (CET)  with LMGTE first on track followed by LMP at 22h00.
