Lance Stroll criticised the “funny decisions” by the stewards after being penalised during the Australian Grand Prix.
Pitting twice under the early Safety Car, the Canadian was in defence mode in the closing laps as he tried to hold on for a points finish.
However, up against Pierre Gasly and Valtteri Bottas, Stroll was given a five-second penalty for a pretty clear case of weaving down the straight.
Leaving the Finn far from amused by the Aston Martin driver’s tactics.
“The weaving just made it very hard for me to decide where to go, it was a bit on the limit,” Bottas said post-race.

“And yeah that pass, obviously forced me to go off the track, so I don’t think that’s how you should race.
“But I still managed to get through and I think that cost me a bit of time for sure, maybe Esteban [Ocon] could still have been otherwise reachable, but still, four points is not bad.”
Stroll, who would eventually finish 12th, defended his driving and was less than impressed by the stewards.
“We see guys weaving all the time,” he said via The Race.

“It’s just the last move, really. You can weave down the straight as long as you don’t weave when the guy’s approaching very close behind you. I’m weaving to break the slipstream, not to try and defend, and then they penalised me for it.
