Toro Rosso is close to being renamed Alpha Tauri in 2020 following a request from Red Bull.
RaceFans reports the Austrian energy drinks giant has already got the approval from Liberty Media for the change, which would see them take the name of Red Bull’s clothing brand.
However, the F1 Commission still needs to give the final green light with teams given until next Thursday to cast their vote electronically.
If the move goes ahead the former Minardi team will become Scuderia Alpha Tauri Honda, with many noting the likely confusion with Alfa Romeo that will ensue.
