    Toyota on top ahead of qualifying in Texas

    The third and final Free Practice session at the Circuit of The Americas saw the no8 Toyota Gazoo Racing TS050 of Sebastien Buemi head the time sheets in the 60 minute session.

    The Swiss driver’s time of 1m45.712 was the fastest of the weekend so far and was 1.7s ahead of championship leader Timo Bernhard in the no2 Porsche.

    Ford was once again at the head of the LMGTE field with Olivier Pla recording a 2m02.987 lap to keep the US manufacturer out in front at their home event. 

    Ferrari were second and third fastest with the no51 F488 of James Calado ahead of the no71 sister car at the chequered flag.

    The no28 TDS Racing Oreca of Matthieu Vaxiviere was quickest in the LMP2 class, with the French driver taking a 1m53.541 lap ahead of the no37 Jackie Chan DC Racing Oreca of Alex Brundle.

    For the third time is Free practice the no98 Aston Martin Racing Vantage of Pedro Lamy was the quickest of the LMGTE Am runners.  

    The Portuguese driver set a 2m04.941 lap to finish ahead of Miguel Molina in the no54 Spirit of Race Ferrari.

    Qualifying for the 6 Hours of Circuit of the Americas is due to get underway at 15:05 (local) / 22:05 CET on Friday 15 September
