Stoffel Vandoorne secured his first win at the Race At Home Challenge in New York, as the Mercedes driver finished 17 seconds ahead of the pack to take the championship lead.

Vandoorne has picked up four pole positions in the virtual series but has failed to convert them into race wins due to him crashing on the other rounds.

Pascal Wehrlein came through the field to finish in second after starting from seventh place after serving his five-place grid drop for his collision with Maximilian Gunther in Berlin.

Oliver Rowland finished in third place after losing out in an epic battle with Wehrlein and settled for the final place on the podium.

Neel Jani in the Porsche made a lunge on the final lap to try and steal the final podium place away from Rowland but ending up spinning at Turn 1 and lost out to Antonio Felix Da Costa who finished fourth and Jani finished fifth.

Mitch Evans finished the race in sixth for Jaguar ahead of his teammate James Calado. Sebastien Buemi finished eighth for Nissan ahead of Oliver Turvey in ninth and Andre Lotterer in tenth.

Maximilian Gunther was taken out in the first corner on lap one after starting from second, the German driver did fight back to finish in 12th, but the chance of securing the championship seemed to have disappeared ahead of the final doubleheader race weekend next week.

Next week, will be the final Race At Home Challenge event which will see a doubleheader event that will have double points on the final race on Sunday.
