Sebastian Vettel is aiming to leave Ferrari with “dignity” as he admits his performances haven’t been good in 2020.
After 11 Grand Prix’s, the four-time world champion sits 13th in the Drivers’ standings with just 17 points, a massive 46 behind teammate Charles Leclerc in eighth.
Vettel has also scored just a single points finish since Spa, lucking into P10 at Mugello, and has generally struggled for confidence all-season in the problematic SF1000.
“I have not been happy with my performance in some of the races this year,” he told Sky Italia ahead of the Portuguese GP on Thursday.
“I expect a lot from myself and I know and I feel I can do better.”

Some might blame Vettel’s poor season on Ferrari’s decision to announce back in May that the 33-year-old would be leaving at the end of the season.
However, since then Seb has signed at Aston Martin for 2021 and says he is now simply focused on leaving the Scuderia on a high.
“I’m very much looking for a new chapter starting next year,” he said.
“But before that one starts I try to close the chapter here with dignity and trying to get myself back together so I can deliver the sort of performances that I know that I can.
“Overcoming those obstacles and then be ready for the new chapter.”
With just six races left before his six-year stint in red ends, Vettel was asked how he expects to feel between now and Abu Dhabi.
“I don’t think I’m that type of guy that bubbles up at the end and it all becomes super emotional,” he admitted.
“I think I’m realistic to know things are going to an end. Also, the situation is the team now is also different to maybe a year ago or two years ago. So we know where we are headed.”
