Vietnam Grand Prix organisers are celebrating the completion of the pit building ahead of the inaugural race on April 5.
Much like the Singapore GP circuit, the Hanoi layout will incorporate city streets with the final section permanently built, incorporating a fast, flowing sequence of corners and the pit straight.
Construction of the Formula 1 facilities started last March and with less than three months to go until lights out, this marks a big milestone as preparations head into the final stages.
“This is an important moment in the development of the Hanoi Circuit and another vital milestone in the lead up to Vietnam’s first ever Formula 1 race weekend,” said Vietnam Grand Prix chief Le Ngoc Chi.
“Like the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long and the Pavilion of the Constellation of Literature which have inspired the Pit Building’s design, we hope this structure will become another iconic Hanoi landmark.
“With the track itself nearing completion and grandstands starting to go up as the event draws ever closer, the excitement levels for the Formula 1 VinFast Vietnam Grand Prix 2020 are rapidly growing. We are ready and we look forward to seeing you in Hanoi very soon.”
Organisers hope to have the circuit near-complete but for final touches by the end of the month, and revealed eight grandstands will be named after Vietnamese cities.
The circuit is also set to feature a Dutch-only grandstand partly as a nod to the race at Zandvoort which also joins the F1 calendar for 2020 and of course to accommodate the army of Max Verstappen fans which are now present at every race.
