Williams’ worrying path to Australia has taken another detour with the team forced to change two parts ahead of the first Formula 1 race.

Autosport reports that the FW42 featured a seventh element on the lower wishbone of the front suspension which exceeds the permitted total of six, and new wing mirrors will be needed to meet new guidelines set out for 2019.

This follows the delays in getting a full car ready for pre-season testing, which in turn has left them lagging behind the rest in terms of performance and has seen technical director Paddy Lowe take a leave of absence.

With just an ongoing cycle of bad news following bad news, it leads you to wonder just when anything positive will happen at Williams going forward.
