Toto Wolff has denied rumours linking him to the role of CEO at Aston Martin starting next year.
The Mercedes motorsport boss is out of contract at the end of 2020 and was initially considered to replace for Formula 1 CEO Chase Carey before the idea was reportedly blocked by Ferrari.
Since then, Wolff’s friendship with Racing Point owner Lawrence Stroll has led some insiders to suggest a future partnership between the pair.
And the top job at the British luxury carmaker, where Stroll owns a 25 per cent stake, is the most recent position touted, this after the pair flew back from Australia together in the Canadian’s private jet.
“The story is not true, I am not going to be the CEO of Aston Martin,” Wolff told the Dutch edition of Motorsport.

Certainly, there have been enough signals to suggest Toto’s future at Mercedes is uncertain, however.
The biggest being his recent absence from a video meeting of team bosses, Liberty Media and the FIA to forge a path forward for F1 after the coronavirus pandemic, primarily focusing on the 2021 technical regulations and the subsequent agreement to delay them for 12 months.
Also, there have been questions over his relationship with new Daimler CEO Ola Kallenius.
Notably, it is understood the latter strongly advised Mercedes to join those teams in favour of cancelling the Australian Grand Prix in a phone call during that hectic Thursday night a few weeks ago.
That then led to Wolff reversing his initial vote to carry on with the race weekend in the meeting of team bosses at the hotel.
Still, at this point, we have to believe no decision on the Austrian’s future has yet been made, but if he does walk through the door at Brackley, a short drive to Silverstone is the most likely outcome.
