Mercedes motorsport boss Toto Wolff expects to remain with the company in 2021 and beyond as he again ruled out a move to Aston Martin.
The Austrian is out of contract at the German manufacturer after this year and has been linked to the role of CEO at the British luxury carmaker following an investment deal into the company by his good friend Lawrence Stroll.
However, after an initial denial earlier this week, on Wednesday, Toto made his position clear.
“There is no truth to the rumours that I’m going to be CEO of Aston Martin,” he told broadcaster ORF.
“I’m in a partnership with Daimler in the F1 team and that’s my priority.
“An investment consortium led by Lawrence Stroll has taken over a share [in Aston Martin]. This is a financial investment but an operational role on my part at Aston Martin is definitely out of the question.”
Instead, Wolff says he has little interest in leaving his current role, which he assumed in 2017 and is in talks regarding an extension.
“I am with Mercedes in our eighth year now and I really enjoy working with the people there,” he stated.
