PREMA Powerteam will welcome Swedish racer Dino Beganovic for the 2020 Formula 4 season.
Beganovic, who will turn 16 in a few days, will make his Formula racing debut with the team in a program that will feature the full Italian Formula 4 Championship and selected events in the German ADAC-promoted series.
After starting his karting career in 2011, and experiencing a successful Junior career, Beganovic made his breakthrough in 2018 and 2019, winning two national Swedish championships and impressing at international level where he established himself as a consistent front runner ending up second in the 2019 WSK Euro Series.
The 2020 season will bring a fundamental step for him. In addition to making his first foray in single-seaters, he will join the Ferrari Driver Academy which will provide even more support to his potential. Beganovic, who already made his first steps in testing, is bracing for an exciting season.
Angelo Rosin Team Principal said: “Dino really impressed us so far so we are really looking to see him on-track for his competitive debut. He is young and promising, so a perfect candidate for PREMA Powerteam!”
“In addition, we are delighted for the continued collaboration with Ferrari and its Driver Academy which is set to really help Dino in graduating to single-seaters. We expect a highly competitive season, with many potential top contenders joining in, but competition is what drives us and we will be ready from the start.”
Dino Beganovic added: “This is an amazing opportunity. I can’t thank the Ferrari Driver Academy enough for putting their trust in me, and I really couldn’t have asked for a better team behind me than Prema.”
“They have been the outstanding force not just in Formula 4, but also Formula 3 and Formula 2, in recent years and have the sort of invaluable experience I need in my rookie year. I’m sure there will be a lot to learn, but I’ve felt at home in the F4 car from the start and I have the best people possible around me. I can’t wait to kick off my first season of single-seater racing!”
