Former Formula 1 race director Michael Masi has denied reports linking him to a role in Supercars.
The Sydney native is back in Australia following his departure from the FIA in July, five months after he was removed from his role amid the fallout from his decisions in last year's season finale in Abu Dhabi that influenced the F1 championship outcome.
Earlier this week, it was claimed Masi was being lined up to replace Neil Crompton as the new Chairman of the Supercars Commission, which oversees the sporting and technical regulations in the touring cars series.
The reports added the final step was Supercars gaining approval from team owners to confirm Masi in the position at this weekend's SuperSprint event at Sandown.
However, asked by SpeedCafe about the speculation, Michael's reaction was one of surprise.
“Really?” he replied. “They’re only rumours."
That being said, Masi says he isn't short of future job opportunities.
“There’s a number of things that have come up from all corners of the globe,” he added.

“There’s been a number of things that have popped up out of the woodwork, and I’m in not in a rush to confirm anything on any of them.
“Some a surprise, some not so much of a surprise, but equally, we’ll just continue to evaluate all the bits and pieces that are popping up, and there is plenty.
“I’ve had a number of offers from all corners of the globe and there’s a number of exciting opportunities that have come about.”
Masi previously worked with Motorsport Australia and was deputy race director in Supercars before joining the FIA in 2018.
