Charles Leclerc claims his transition from Sauber to Ferrari is much smaller than that he made from Formula 2 a year ago.
As the Monegasque become the youngest driver for the Scuderia in over 50 years, one question has been how he’ll cope at Formula 1’s most iconic team?
Leclerc’s early signs have been very positive during testing this week though and, speaking in Barcelona, he explained why.
“It’s a different position I am in because last year when I arrived in winter testing, I was coming from F2, so the step was big,” he was quoted by Motorsport Week.
“Now it’s from one F1 car to another F1 car, so obviously the step is smaller.”

Leclerc also admits he feels right at home in the Ferrari SF90 after only two days behind the wheel.
“I got used to it very quickly, so I already feel quite at ease with the car,” he continued.
“There are already a lot of things that I need to get at ease with, but already the feeling is very good. It’s a car that is quite easy to drive now.”
Ominous words indeed.
