Antonio Felix Da Costa has continued his strong form from Wednesday and Thursday into this weekend’s Berlin E-Prix which will take place on the traditional layout.
The Techeetah driver set a 1. 06.831 on a qualifying simulation run at 250kW to end the session fastest. Da Costa could win the championship today if he wins the race and the drivers behind him fail to score enough points to stop him becoming a champion.
Da Costa is 68 points clear of Stoeffel Vandoorne and Lucas Di Grassi in the championship, and with 30 points up for grabs today Da Costa could become to earliest ever Formula E Champion.
Jerome D’Ambrosio ended the first practice session in second for Mahindra setting a 1.06.915. edorado Mortara finished in third for Venturi with Sam bird in fourth for Virgin Racing.
Alex Lynn backed up Mahindra’s strong turn around in pace to finish in fifth place and Neel Jani was the lead Porsche driver setting a 1.07.231 to end the session in sixth.
Nyck De Vries came home in seventh, the Mercedes driver has a five-place grid-drop after he got out and pushed his car away during Thursday race without instruction from the FIA to do so.
Vandoorne in the second Mercedes finished in eighth with Andre Lotterer in ninth for Porsche and Maximilian Gunther in 10th for BMW.
Rene Rast brought out an early Red flag after he stopped at Turn 4. The Audi driver was unable to get back out during the session and will be on the back foot going into FP2.
