Formula 1 has confirmed two personnel have tested positive for Covid-19 in the latest round of testing ahead of the Hungarian Grand Prix.
Though no details have been released on where the two cases have come from, it has been confirmed the two people were not present for the reason doubleheader in Austria and have been put in isolation along with those who have been contact traced.
Previously, over 8,000 tests across the two weeks in Austria had all come back negative, with these two positive tests coming from just under 5,000 taken between Monday and Thursday.

This will be the first test of F1’s new coronavirus measures that have been implemented to ensure a safe return to racing after the original season-opener back in March was cancelled following the positive test for a McLaren employee.
To limit the potential for spread, all teams have been placed into separate bubbles with masks made mandatory at all times within the paddock environment.
Not only that, for this weekend’s race in Budapest, Hungarian authorities have restricted movement for British and non-EU personnel to between the racetrack and hotel only, with the risk of heavy fines or jail if caught in breach.
Previously, Ferrari has been warned by the FIA for their drivers not complying with the Covid-19 protocols.
This after Sebastian Vettel met with Red Bull bosses unmasked during the first Austrian GP weekend and Charles Leclerc met with friends outside his bubble after returning to Monaco between the two races in Spielberg.
Just last weekend, F1 motorsport boss Ross Brawn warned the sport not to be complacent and claiming a positive test was inevitable, now he has been proven right.
