Ferrari launch their 2020 car, the SF1000 in Italy

Ferrari has officially revealed their 2020 car, the SF1000, in a ceremony in Reggio Emilia.

Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc were on hand at the famed Romolo Valli Municipal Theatre to pull off the cover on the newest creation from the factory at Maranello.

The new car design features an altered livery with a darker shade of red compared to last year and visually, the car does appear quite similar to its predecessor, the SF90, but does see some changes, notably at the rear of the car with tighter packaging and at the front the bargeboard area appears more complex with a greater emphasis on downforce.

The main aim with the 2020 car has been to address the lack of grip and drag which Ferrari struggled with last year in comparison to their rivals.

If that has been achieved, then the Italian team stands a very strong chance of taking the fight to Mercedes with an engine that, while controversial, is still expected to be the best on the grid.

And the pressure is on for Ferrari to finally get it right and win a championship again, with the 2010s the first decade in history the Scuderia has failed to do so.
