MotoGP expresses its solidarity with the Community of Valencia in the wake of the devastating floods that have impacted the region. Our thoughts are with those who have lost their lives and those who have suffered significant losses.
We have been in ongoing discussions with local authorities and the circuit to determine how we can assist and how best to move forward. Our responsibility to each region where we compete extends far beyond the sport itself.
After carefully evaluating the potential benefits of hosting MotoGP™ racing in Valencia on delayed dates against the need to ensure that no resources are diverted from recovery efforts, both the championship and local authorities have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2024 Valencia GP.
In place of the race in Valencia, MotoGP™ will instead race for Valencia. The championship will focus on supporting existing relief funds to ensure our efforts effectively assist the communities we have been part of for so long.
Our initiatives will kick off during the Malaysian GP and continue at the final round of the 2024 season, with a new venue and dates to be announced as soon as they are confirmed.
Fans, athletes, and the paddock deserve a meaningful finale to the 2024 season—one that contributes positively to the communities we race in.
Reports suggest that five alternative venues are being evaluated as potential replacements for the canceled Valencia MotoGP.
