Max Verstappen has again thrown shade at Lewis Hamilton suggesting most Formula 1 drivers could win a championship at Mercedes.
The Dutchman hasn't been afraid to downplay the five world titles the Briton has won with the German manufacturer since 2014, perhaps trying to play mind games as Red Bull gradually become more competitive.
But while the debate rages as to whether Hamilton is one of the greatest of all time, Verstappen simply believes he has been in the right place at the right time.
"I am just confident to say that it would have been the same for me if I had been in that car," he told Ziggo Sport.
"60 per cent of the drivers in the field would become world champion in a Mercedes. It just depends on the car.

"He is definitely very good and is one of the best Formula 1 drivers of all time, but you can beat him," he insists.
Looking ahead to 2020, most expect Hamilton and Mercedes to face their toughest external threat in the hybrid era from a Verstappen-led Red Bull and Ferrari, where Charles Leclerc and Sebastian Vettel are battling for supremacy.
Not only that, there is added pressure on the soon-to-be 35-year-old as he goes in search of matching Michael Schumacher as a seven-time F1 champion.
That's why it promises to be quite a season.
