A new TV rights deal in Brazil could hint at the Grand Prix moving from Sao Paulo to Rio de Janeiro next year.
Earlier this year, longtime broadcaster Globo announced it would not continue to broadcast the sport after 30 years from 2021, with those rights recently bought by Rio Motorsports.
The company is now expected to sublicence those rights off to a pay-TV and free-to-air network as well as an online streaming service alongside Liberty Media's F1 TV.
However, Rio Motorsports is also linked to the construction of a new circuit, called Rio MotorPark, which has long been linked to replacing the historic venue at Interlagos by president Jair Bolsonaro.
The Sao Paulo circuit has hosted F1 continually since 1991 but this year's Brazilian GP had to be cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
2020 though was the final year of Interlagos' F1 contract and, while the city is fighting to keep the race, with the TV rights now in the hands of Rio, it wouldn't be a stretch to think the Grand Prix might be next.
