Daniil Kvyat is calm over the possibility of being dropped by Red Bull again after 2020.

The Russian returned to the company stable for the second time and to Toro Rosso for the third last year, highlighting the season with a podium finish at Hockenheim.

However, this year Kvyat is being outclassed by Pierre Gasly, at least in the championship, with the Frenchman almost 50 points ahead.

“Look, honestly, I’m not at all like worried,” he told MotorsportWeek. “If I’m going to be in Formula 1 next year it’s good. If not, then so be it.

“Everything is still open. It’s in these crazy conditions, you know, everything can happen. You need to keep fighting until the end, take your chances.

“I’m just doing my best, my best in these five races remaining. And then, whatever will happen, then I will make my decisions based on what it’s going to be at the end of the year.”

Kvyat also faces a two-pronged threat to his seat for next season.

First from F2 driver Yuki Tsunoda, who is set to test with AlphaTauri at Imola soon, and from potentially Alex Albon, should Red Bull decides to replace him.

Of course, a second exit would come after his first ended a tumultuous 18 months across 2016/2017 during which he was demoted from Red Bull back to Toro Rosso and eventually replaced by Gasly before making a final one-off appearance in Austin.
