Lando Norris was left "unharmed" but "shaken" by an attack from fans following Sunday's Euro 2020 final at Wembley.

The McLaren driver posted an image of himself at the game which saw England miss out on their first major football championship since 1966 after losing to Italy on penalties.

Throughout the day, fans were involved in a number of incidents around the stadium with more skirmishes breaking out after the game.

And on Monday, it was confirmed one of those incidents saw Norris approached by several people as he returned to his car with one person grabbing Lando before another stole his Richard Mille watch, estimated to be worth around £40k.

UK newspaper The Sun quoted a witness who said Norris appeared "shaken up" after the mugging, noting security had been "a nightmare all night".

Then, McLaren themselves issued a statement late on Monday on the incident.

‘McLaren Racing can confirm that Lando Norris was involved in an incident, after the Euro 2020 final match at Wembley, during which the watch he was wearing was taken,’ it read.

‘Thankfully, Lando was unharmed but he is understandably shaken.

‘The team is supporting Lando and we are sure that racing fans will join us in wishing him all the best for the British Grand Prix this weekend.

‘As this is now a police matter we cannot comment further.’

Just another example of the pathetic behaviour from so-called fans during the Euro 2020 tournament...
