Charles Leclerc was quickest as less than a tenth covered the top three drivers in Practice 2 at the Dutch Grand Prix.
The Ferrari man posted a 1m12.345s during the soft tyre runs, pipping teammate Carlos Sainz by just 0.004s with Lewis Hamilton only 0.072s behind in third.
Red Bull's difficult day continued with Max Verstappen only eighth quickest as he returned to the track following his gearbox problems in Practice 1.
More worryingly, the home hero was still half a second faster than Sergio Perez in P12 in the other RB18.
Behind the top three, Lando Norris maintained McLaren's improved form around Zandvoort in fourth, between Hamilton and George Russell in fifth in the second Mercedes.
Lance Stroll ran a strong sixth for Aston Martin followed by the two Alpines on either side of Verstappen in seventh and ninth.
Daniel Ricciardo rounded out the top 10 but was confined to the garage in the second half of the session due to an oil leak on his McLaren.
Yuki Tsunoda was 11th but caused a red flag with a spin into the gravel at Turn 10 during the race simulation.

AlphaTauri teammate Pierre Gasly completed the least laps of anyone after losing the early part of FP2 with a technical issue.
Mick Schumacher was 13th, seven-tenths clear of Haas teammate Kevin Magnussen as he looks to secure his F1 future.
Zhou Guanyu was the lead Alfa Romeo in 15th as Williams finished slowest of the 10 teams with Alex Albon their best-placed driver in 17th.
