Racing Point boss Otmar Szafnauer is enjoying the early harmony between Sergio Perez and Lance Stroll.

The new partnership has made a solid start to 2019 with their new recruit scoring points in Australia with the Mexican responding with a top 10 of his own in Bahrain.

Before the start of the year though, some were wondering how Perez would react to the arrival of Stroll and whether the youngster would gain any kind of preferential advantage as the son of the owner.

Instead, it appears to be going much smoother than the past two seasons when Esteban Ocon was alongside 'Checo'.

“It is a different dynamic. It’s good,” Szafnauer told Crash.net. “It’s different for many reasons, but it’s very good. They share work together, try to get the best out of the car.”

Perez has been particularly impressed by Stroll, even naming him as his most competitive teammate on race pace, and Racing Point sees plenty more potential to be tapped into.

“He’s good,” the team boss declared. “We can teach him some stuff and it’s one of those things where with experience you learn.

“He’s young. He’s 20 years old, and with a couple of years, he’ll only get better and better at this.

“He’s very good, very talented. Great feedback, he knows what he likes with the car, and he’s a good driver.”
