Sebastian Vettel has played down Ferrari's chances of victory at the German Grand Prix.
The Heppenheim native has not won his home race since 2013 and has never stood on the top step at Hockenheim.
Last year, of course, Vettel appeared well on his way to victory before crashing out at the Sachskurve but he doubts he'll find himself in a similar situation this year.
"Not badly. Obviously, I want to win, but I'm realistic," he said on Thursday on if he was desperate to win.
"Coming here I don't feel we are the favourites but I feel we have a chance. We have a chance to do well, that's the objective."

Given the uncertainty surrounding the German Grand Prix in recent years and looking forward, for Vettel, just the thrill of racing is enough.
"It's a special place for me, close to where I'm from, close to family and friends and to find a place to celebrate I won't have to go very far," he said.
"First of all, it is special to have the opportunity to race in your home country.
"Obviously, I was very close last year. Let's see how close we can get last year. I think we are in a less strong position (than last year) to start the weekend.
"Then again, in recent races, we feel very strong, in qualifying and in race pace."
