Charles Leclerc claims his relationship with Sebastian Vettel remains as strong as it was in Australia.

The Ferrari drivers had a bit of a bumpy start with a few instances of team orders impacting the Monegasque in the early races as he tried to gain a foothold within the Scuderia.

And he has managed that, matching if not beating Vettel since Austria but he insists those results haven't impacted how they work together.

"Very, very good. We have a very good relationship, which is very important for the team," Leclerc stated describing their partnership.

"I think the thing that hasn’t changed since the beginning of the season is that he wants to beat me and I want to beat him, but I think we have found the right compromise where we are working together to try and put the car where it deserves to be.

"As I said the relationship is very good and also the mood in the team is very good even though we are going through tough times and I think this is important."

The 21-year-old then revealed what he has learnt most from working with the four-time world champion.

"I think the way he is so precise with everything he does with the car," he told Crash.net.

"I think this is something that I noticed straight away whenever I listened to him for the first time during a post-session meeting.

"On that, I still think I have some improvements to do."

Earlier in the year, Ferrari boss Mattia Binotto stated that Vettel would get "priority" in 50/50 situations and Leclerc was asked if that approach remained in place.

"I’m not really the one to answer that one but I am giving my best on the track," he replied.
