Renault has announced they will not appeal the FIA's decision to exclude both cars from the Japanese Grand Prix.
On Wednesday, the stewards from Suzuka sided with Racing Point after they protested the result, accusing the French manufacturer of running an automated brake bias system.
Though the governing body said the system itself didn't break any technical regulations, they agreed it fell foul of Article 27.1 of the sporting rules which state a driver must control the car alone and unaided.
Having being given until 10am Mexico time on Thursday to respond, Renault did so half an hour before that deadline and voiced frustration at the disqualification.
"We regret the Stewards’ decision and, in particular, the severity of the sanction applied," their statement began.
"In our opinion, the penalty is not proportionate to any benefit the drivers derived, especially when used within the context of a system confirmed fully legal and innovative.
"It is also inconsistent with previous sanctions for similar breaches, as acknowledged by the stewards in their decision but expressed without further argumentation.

"However, since we have no new evidence to bring other than that already produced to demonstrate the legality of our system, we do not wish to invest further time and effort in a sterile debate in front of the International Court of Appeal concerning the subjective appreciation, and therefore sanction, related to an aid that reduces the driver workload without enhancing the performance of the car," it continued.
"We have therefore decided not to appeal the Stewards’ decision."
As a result, Renault has lost the nine points they earned in Japan, after Daniel Ricciardo finished sixth and Nico Hulkenberg 10th, and now sit just six points clear of Toro Rosso in fifth in the Constructors' standings with Racing Point a further four points back in seventh.
