Sebastian Vettel believes assumptions that Ferrari will set the pace in Mexico could be wide of the mark.
The Italian team arrives in Mexico City looking to continue a run of five straight poles since the summer break as an upgrade has seen the SF90H chassis better complement their superior engine performance.
On first impression, it would appear the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez would better suit Ferrari than the past race in Suzuka for example, but the four-time world champion isn't so sure.
“I don’t know. So-so," he said via Crash.net on Thursday rating the Scuderia's chances.
“People look at the track and they look at the straight line. I think we’ve been strong on the straight lines in recent races, but there’s quite a couple of corners.

“Plus here, it’s not one of the tracks where efficiency matters so much. We do have quite an efficient car but maybe we can’t use that to our advantage, so we will see.
"How we manage around the corner sections, where some of these corners types have been our weakness, we’ll see."
Based on recent years, Ferrari's main threat would be Red Bull, with Max Verstappen having dominated the past races in Mexico.
Mercedes, on the other hand, have struggled and Vettel certainly isn't ruling victory out.
“I feel confident, I think we have a good package,” he continued.
“There’s parts of the track that should be in our favour, other parts where it might be a bit more difficult but we will see how it works out.
"The weather could be a bit difficult this weekend, so we see what happens.”
