Daniel Ricciardo topped the times on the final morning of Formula 1 pre-season testing in Barcelona.

While it was expected most teams would sample the C5 Pirelli tyres for a performance run before heading to Australia, only four would do so with the Renault driver posting a 1m16.276s to lead the way.

Right behind the Australian, Ferrari and Mercedes continued to hide their pace with both Charles Leclerc just under a tenth behind in second with Lewis Hamilton a further half-tenth back in third.

For the world champion, however, a best-of-anyone 90 laps was very welcome after only managing 14 before an engine issue ended his day early on Thursday.

Highlighting the amount of potential that is still being hidden by the top teams, Sergio Perez was only two-tenths behind Hamilton in fourth for Racing Point but posted his time on the C3 compound vs. those ahead on the C5.

Carlos Sainz was slower than the Mexican in fifth despite using the C4 tyre on his McLaren, while Nicholas Latifi conducted a late C5 run to claim sixth.

Daniil Kvyat was seventh in the AlphaTauri as Romain Grosjean took over morning duties from Kevin Magnussen at Haas and completed 86 laps, including a race simulation, accounting for his lowly eighth.

Kimi Raikkonen was ninth in the Alfa Romeo and Alex Albon completed the top 10 in the Red Bull, 1.6s slower than Ricciardo and the only driver to post his best time on the C2 tyre.

If the Milton Keynes-based squad had planned a performance run, the London-born Thai driver scuppered them by spinning into the gravel at Turn 12 with an hour to go before recovering back to the garage.

For Albon, Hamilton, Ricciardo and Grosjean, lunchtime brought to an end their pre-season running with their teammates taking over for the afternoon.

Meanwhile, a full list of lap times and lap counts from the first four hours of the final day can be seen below:
