Mattia Pasini stepped up to take the top spot in the closing practice session of the day, from championship leader Franco Mobidelli and Takaaki Nakagami. In this morning’s session Nakagami finished the session in 27th, but the on-off conditions hampered most of the riders.

Midway through FP2, Lorenzo Baldassari suffered a crash but thankfully escaped unscathed. In the last minute of the session, Jorge Navarro took a trip into the gravel and he too was okay. Miguel Oliveira sat comfortably in fourth for the majority of the session, but was knocked back to fifth over the checkered flag by Simone Corsi who had put in a last ditch attempt to get himself into the top five. As it looked as if it would stay that way, Sandro Cortese bumped himself up to fourth, leaving Corsi in fifth and Oliveira in sixth.

Alex Marquez is making his return from injury and his weekend in Aragon isn’t quite going his way so far. This morning in FP1 he managed 14th, but FP2 saw him finish the session in 29th. Marcel Schrotter is also making his injury return, and after a more than respectable 4th this morning, he ended FP2 in 11th.
