Franco Morbidelli topped Moto2’s final practice session from Taka Nakagami and Simone Corsi.
It was a straight forward session, with the biggest off being from Tarran Mackenzie. Thankfully, he was okay but his bike has probably seen better days.
Morbidelli was doing it all by himself, as he constantly set 1:24.4’s. But when he had Thomas Luthi on his tail he set a scorcher of a lap – a 1:24.1, and nobody could get close to it. His team mate Alex Marquez was having another solid session, but seemed to be losing his time in the final sector. He finished in 7th, equaling his best free practice finish this weekend but improving his time by almost a second.
Marcel Schrotter is having a great weekend so far, arguably his best of the season. He’s finished consistently near the top in all practices, and aims to translate that into the race. It is his home race too, and wants to impress in front of his home crowd.
