Ferrari boss Mattia Binotto is certain Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc will be the team line-up in 2020.

Typically, the upcoming Italian Grand Prix next month is when the Scuderia like to announce their pairing for the following year and both their current drivers are still under contract.

Following a tough 2019, however, there had been speculation that Vettel might move to Red Bull or even consider retiring after this season, but Binotto dismissed that notion.

“We have a couple of high-level drivers and I see no reason why we have to change anything,” he is quoted by Spain’s Marca. “Both have a contract and there is no doubt that Vettel will be with us in 2020.”

One driver that knows the four-time champion well, however, is ex-Toro Rosso boss and Ferrari driver, Gerhard Berger.

And speaking after Silverstone, where Vettel crashed into the back of Max Verstappen, he wondered if the 32-year-old was still “comfortable” at Maranello.

“Sebastian has never liked pressure, he has it at the moment, but he’s coming out again,” the Austrian told Speed Week.

“Sometimes it’s inexplicable. There are duels, you find a rhythm, but it goes wrong and it looks funny from the outside and cannot be explained.

“Sebastian has to look where he feels comfortable. There are people who can deliver brilliant results, whether they feel well or not and there are people who can only perform well if they feel good. Sebastian has to feel good.

“At Ferrari, you can feel extremely comfortable, but there are also times when you feel extremely uncomfortable. Vettel is currently in the uncomfortable phase.”

Vettel has since followed that up with two podiums, including a recovery drive to second in Germany and third in Hungary.
