Kimi Raikkonen isn’t a fan of the Monaco Grand Prix, suggesting the race isn’t what it used to be.
The Finn has a mixed record in Monte Carlo with a victory in 2005 and three other podiums but also four retirements at Formula 1’s most famous race.
However, asked for his opinion on the ‘Jewel in the Crown’, Raikkonen had very little positive to say.
“It might be a nice place to watch, but honestly I don’t like Monaco at all,” he stated. “It is no longer the track that I drove when I was here for the first time.
“The Swimming Pool corner was tighter, the first corner had a barrier and the rest was changed as well.
“Before, the driver was able to make a difference here, but not anymore.
“Now, the fastest car is always at the top.”

This weekend also sees Raikkonen become just the fifth driver in history to reach 300 Grand Prix entries but the 39-year-old is equally disenchanted about the whole thing.
“I don’t want cakes, drinks, nothing. It’s just a number that means nothing to me,” Raikkonen told Auto Motor und Sport.
Despite his pessimism, Raikkonen featured in the top 10 in both practice sessions on Thursday and hopes to continue that into the weekend.
“We’ll take it, there is still work to be done,” he told reporters.
“Probably it is a better start [to the weekend] than we expected, but, it’s only free practice so we will see [what happens on Saturday].”
