Italy’s Paulo Lucci and the Belgian trio of Igor Bouwens, Ulrich Boerboom and Frits Driesmans prevailed in the motorcycle and car/truck categories with the fastest time on the tricky 477km seventh stage of the the 12th Africa Eco Race (Monaco-Dakar) between Chami and the village of Aidzidine, near Atar, in Western Mauritania on Tuesday.
Today started in a mineral ambiance. The riders and drivers on the Dakar will not see any more stones, but had to tackle 150 kilometres of rocky terrain in an environment that was different to the canyons and mountains of the first week.
Aussie rider Matt Sutherland and French driver Patrick Martin won their respective motorcycle and car categories on the sixth stage of the 12th Africa Eco Race (Monaco-Dakar) between Arzmeila and Chami on the road to Nouakchott in Western Mauritania on Monday.
Wadi, the valley in Arabic, is a fairly good way to describe the stage in which the cars, SSVs and trucks took part today.
