Pramac’s Scott Redding has some good form at Silverstone, including a Moto2 race win in 2013 and an incredible podium battle with Marc Marquez the year before, with 2017 proving another good result to add to his record at the track despite being more unexpected after a tough weekend.
Struggling a little throughout practice and expecting a hard fight to crack into the top ten, Sunday was a different story – and a faster one. Finding some changes helped for the race and getting into the rhythm, Redding powered to P8 over the line for another good finish at his home GP.
“I’m really, really happy with the result in the race, I didn’t expect that. We struggled a lot all weekend and I pushed hard all the weekend but I never felt comfortable.” He said
“I struggled a lot with the front tyres and even in Warm Up I wasn’t in a good, confident position but we made some changes for the race.”
“It started to work, I had quite good grip from the beginning so I could get the rhythm. So in the end I was happy with the end result.” added Redding
“We worked hard and it wasn’t looking good until the race, we were thinking if we could get top ten it would be a good job. So to end up with this, we’re really happy.”
