17-year-old Czech racer Roman Staněk will enter the 2022 Formula 3 Championship season under the Trident Motorsport banner.

Trident Motorsport is delighted to announce that Czech driver Roman Staněk will compete for the team in the 2022 Formula 3 Championship season. The 17-year-old will be facing his third year in a category that so far saw him grow consistently.

After just one season in the Italian and ADAC Formula 4 Championship, highlighted by a total of three wins, Staněk moved directly to the FIA Formula 3 Championship in 2020.

After scoring three points in Monza in his first season, being the youngest driver at the start, Staněk showed a clear growth in 2021, claiming two podiums at Spa-Francorchamps and Hungaroring. Last November, he took part in the FIA Formula 3 Championship post-season test, ending up P5 overall and showing a convincing level of performance.

Giacomo Ricci, Team Manager said: “We are proud to welcome a racer with such outstanding qualities like Roman Staněk. Despite being only 17, Roman is in his third year in the category and will bring the right amount of experience and speed.”

That will allow the team to continue its winning tradition in the FIA Formula 3 Championship. Roman impressed the technical staff during the 2021 post-season test when he was constantly among the fastest drivers on the track”.

Roman Staněk added: “I am proud to be part of the Trident Motorsport line-up as it is a leading force among F3 teams. I hope to bring in experience and speed to help the team defend its 2021 title.”
