George Russell is expecting updates to the Williams car for the Spanish Grand Prix to determine if their 2019 season can be salvaged.
The British team remains all alone at the back of the grid and is only just getting back its feet after delays caused them to miss the start of testing and left them short on parts.
Four races in, Williams is also still trying to understand their problematic car, however, first attempts to improve the situation are coming for Barcelona.
“We’ve got a few little updates coming for Barcelona and I think that will give us a good indication of how the rest of the season will pan out,” he said via Motorsport Week.
“Like I said it’s not a full update but it will give us a clear direction of where we need to focus and based on those results it will help us understand if we’ve got any hope for the remainder of the season or not.”

For Russell, his difficult start to life in F1 has brought to a halt two years of wins and success, having won GP3 and F2 back-to-back.
The Briton insists, however, that he’s just as accustom to difficulties as he is celebrating on the podium.
“You know, it’s not my first difficult year,” he told Motorsport.com.
“My last year in karting was very difficult, I went to a team which wasn’t performing at the time but I saw it as a win-win situation; if I performed it’d look great on me and if I didn’t, people would just blame it on the equipment.
“You can call that a character-building season, and I also had that in Formula 3, my two seasons in Formula 3 were far from perfect, and that made me sort of into the driver I am today as I learned a huge amount from those moments.”
