Sam Bird has ended the second free practice session fastest for Envision Virgin Racing setting a 1:07.672

The Brit won the first race of the season but has only picked two points from the following two races this season. With Mexico being a normal racing circuit the disadvantage of the first qualifying group may be significantly reduced, which may help the Virgin Racing driver record a strong qualifying result.

Techeetah's Antonio Felix Da Costa ended the session in second place with a 1:07.791, while Mitch Evans claimed third fastest for Jaguar Racing with a lap time of a 1:08.025.

Sebastien Buemi ended the session in fourth place, with Stoffel Vandoorne again in the top five for Mercedes. Robin Frijns ended the session sixth fastest in the second of the Envision Virgin Racing cars. The Dutchmen was five-tenths off Bird's lap time.

Andre Lotterer came home in seventh place for Porsche, while Pascal Wehrelin was eighth fastest for Mahindra. Lucas Di Grassi and Jean-Eric Vergne rounded out the top ten.

Daniel  Abt didn't take part in the session due to his crash in the first practice session. The German driver was taken to hospital for precautionary checks.
