Valentino Rossi went quickest in the Brno test, and after a long day of trialing different things on his Yamaha the ‘Doctor’ was particularly happy – having not topped a test for some time. Now it’s yet more positives, with a quick turnaround to the Austrian GP and more track time to confirm their findings.
The Red Bull Ring is the only venue at which Rossi hasn’t stood on the podium in the premier class, but after only one race weekend at the track since 1997, only three men have.
More challenging for the Yamaha but one of the blue machines having made the podium last year, the rider from Tavullia takes the positives with the Championship fight still incredibly close – and his feeling on the M1 worlds away from the difficulties of preseason.
“Going back to the track immediately is very important to us, especially after a test like Monday’s in Brno, where we tried so many things.” Said the Doctor
“During the weekend in the Czech Republic we were fast in every condition and the test helped us to understand a bit more. Now we go to the circuit of Austria, that‘s not very favourable to us, but I hope we can fight for a good result.”
“I’m fine with the YZR-M1 now, I can ride the bike better, I‘m happy and I hope I can fight for the podium at every race. The championship is still open and it will be important to take as many points as possible.” He cocluded
