The TOPCAR sport by Bas Koeten Racing CUPRA TCR DSG (#131, Fabian Danz / Julien Apotheloz / Loris Prattes / Antti Buri) leads a very close battle for TCE honours, with more than half a dozen contenders from both TCR and SP3 in contention for the outright win.
So far, the TCE field has completed 113 laps of the 4.655km Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, and the Swiss team now holds a small gap ahead of the RTR Projects KTM X-BOW (#224, Jan Krabec / Daniel Skalický / Petr Lisa / Erik Janis / Tomas Miniberger), the latter of which also leads the SP3 category.
In pursuit is the Autorama Motorsport by Wolf-Power Racing Volkswagen Golf GTi TCR (#112, Marlon Menden / Ralf Henggeler / Jérôme Ogay / Benjamin Leuchter / Yannick Mettler), which currently heads the 24H TCE SERIES Europe championship standings, and is gunning for not only title glory this weekend but its fifth win of the 2019 24H SERIES powered by Hankook.
The Baporo Motorsport CUPRA TCR (#135, Jose Manuel Sapag / Marcelo Rafael Ciarrocchi / Alexandr Artemyev / Alberto Vescovi), a TCE podium finisher at last year’s 24H BARCELONA, currently holds 3rd place in the TCR class.
Further back, the Perfection Racing Europe Ginetta G55 (#345, Michael Klostermann / Claus Klostermann / Tommy Laugesen / René Rasmussen) and the PR&V Porsche Cayman GT4 CS (#302, Christian Gloz / Hervé Houdre / Alain Remi / Flavien Remi) round out the SP3-class podium thus far.
Back in the A3 category, the Synchro Motorsport Honda FK8-Civic Type-R (#676, Alyn James / Daniel Wheeler / Matt Neal) leads the way after four hours. Having already taken two class wins and two further podiums this year, the British team is also in with an outside chance of securing the overall 24H TCE SERIES Europe Team’s championship in Barcelona.
The Hofor Racing by Bonk Motorsport BMW M240i Racing Cup (#869, Martin Kroll / Axel Burghardt / Volker Piepmeyer / Michael Bonk / Michael Fischer) currently lies 2nd in the A3-class, while the fun-M Motorsport BMW M240i Racing Cup (#802, Harald Rettich / Paul Sieljes / Danny Brink / Klaus Dieter Frommer), a former class winner in Dubai, is running 3rd in-class.
