Max Verstappen does believe a podium is well within his grasp this weekend in Monaco.
The Dutchman is yet to receive a trophy from Prince Albert in four previous attempts, but 2019 will likely be his best chance as he now leads the Red Bull charge.
Speaking ahead of practice which takes place on Thursday, however, Max admits his target will be dictated by one team.
“I think we go into this weekend seeing that Mercedes is clearly the favourite,” he was quoted by Crash.net.
“I don’t think we are as good as we were last year, so we will find out. I’m confident we can fight for the podium but we need to find out which step of the podium.”

While much less critical than at other circuits, Red Bull also head to Monte Carlo knowing Honda has so far met expectations in the first year of their engine partnership.
And Verstappen also spoke of the confidence the Japanese manufacturer has instilled.
“I’m not really surprised because it was all targeted and they delivered what they promised,” he explained.
“It’s just a continuous process and I really enjoy working with them. They really take it all very seriously and are very professional. I am always working with a big smile on my face.
“We, of course, know that we still have to improve but from both sides, not just engine. We are working very hard to do this and this track is usually a bit more competitive for us.”
