Ferrari team boss Maurizio Arrivabene believes Sebastian Vettel will become champion with the Scuderia and shares a lot of traits with Michael Schumacher.

Coming to the end of his fourth year with the Italian team, Vettel is set to miss out in a battle with Lewis Hamilton with both he and Ferrari repeating many of the errors from 2017.

Even so, Arrivabene is certain success will come purely because of how the German conducts himself.

“Sebastian looks a lot like Michael Schumacher in talent and determination,” he told Italy’s La Repubblica. “When I hear him on the radio it’s like talking to Michael.

“From an early age he would come to Maranello with his father and I am sure that sooner or later he will bring the title back here,” he concluded.

For former driver Felipe Massa, however, while competitively Ferrari are stronger, within the Brazilian still sees hurdles to be overcome.

“We won the title in 2007, but the team has had some problems since the 2008 season and they have never won again,” Massa claimed as quoted by PlanetF1.

“When I left Ferrari in 2013, it felt the same way as it did today. They have pressure to win and therefore problems.

“You need to be able to prepare for the tasks in peace. They have to be very focused. The team lacks only small things.”

For Vettel though, the solution for Ferrari is clear.

“There are things that we have to do better in the future, but we can’t go back and change them, so I think we look forward and make sure we get the next Saturday [qualifyings] right in order to get better Sundays.”
