Williams deputy team boss Claire Williams is hopeful her team can begin testing on Wednesday afternoon in Spain.
The British team has watched the rest of the grid get to work while their new car, the FW42, hasn’t even arrived in Barcelona.
Speculation has begun to swirl about the cause for the situation and the potential fallout, but right now, the focus is on losing as little more time as possible.
“Our car is looking likely to arrive at the circuit between 4-5am tomorrow morning,” Williams said in a statement.
“Obviously there will still be a fair amount to do but we will be working as fast as we can. Unlikely to run before lunch though.”
Williams does have a car currently in the garage but it is last year’s chassis with 2019 aero, essentially the car used at the livery launch last week at Grove.
