Yamaha Tech 3 rider Johann Zarco was back in the battle in Austria, taking another top five finish and crossing the line as top Yamaha in his continued charge towards taking the Rookie of the Year title.

Now the paddock heads for Silverstone, which is another happy hunting ground for Zarco in the past.

A podium in the 125cc World Championship is where the Frenchman’s good record begins, with further front rows and good pace in Moto2 – including a win in 2015 and a pole position the year before.

So it’s looking good ahead of the weekend, with Zarco geared up for another thriller and hopeful his pace will translate in the premier class.

“Silverstone is a very fast track and I am happy to go there after the solid and rewarding weekend that we had in Austria.” Said the Frenchman

“I have a high level of motivation again so my target is to fight with the top guys and to collect as many points as possible for the championship.”

“In the past, I have been competitive at Silverstone in Moto2, so I hope I will feel good on my Yamaha MotoGP bike.” He added

“I am sure that I will be confident and I aim to manage the tyres as well as I can in order to have a strong race and then finish close to the front.”
