Williams is now targeting Wednesday to start their 2019 season as delays with the FW42 continue.
The Grove-based outfit was noticeably absent as the rest of the grid begun winter testing in Barcelona on Monday.
It was hoped that just the single day of running would be missed, however, speaking at the circuit, deputy team boss Claire Williams issued more bad news.
“It is looking more likely than not that we will now not be in a position to run on track until Wednesday at the earliest,” she was quoted by Autosport.
“This is obviously extremely disappointing, but it is unfortunately the situation we are in. We will be getting the FW42 on track as soon as we are able.”
With just eight days of testing before the opening race in Melbourne, track time is precious and each day that passes will likely have a major impact on Williams’ competitiveness in the opening races.
