Max Verstappen completed a Friday double by leading Practice 2 at the Canadian Grand Prix.
The reigning world champion was comfortably the fastest for much of the session, lowering the benchmark with every flying lap on the medium and soft tyres.
But his eventual best of 1m14.127s would only be 0.08s quicker than Charles Leclerc in P2 as Ferrari upped their pace.

With an engine penalty likely coming for the Monegasque on Saturday, Carlos Sainz backed up the Scuderia’s speed in third, two-tenths behind Verstappen.
Sergio Perez was a full second off the pace in P11 in the second Red Bull as setup issues appeared to be limiting the Mexican’s performance.
Sebastian Vettel and Fernando Alonso ran very strongly in fourth and fifth, only three and four-tenths off the leading pace respectively.
Pierre Gasly was sixth ahead of George Russell in seventh for Mercedes. The two McLarens were only 0.04s apart in eighth and ninth as Esteban Ocon rounded out the top 10.

Further down, Lewis Hamilton called his car “undrivable” as he struggled in P13 trying experimental setups on his car.
He was just ahead of the two Haas’ in 14th and 15th. Zhou Guanyu was 16th for Alfa Romeo, but Alfa Romeo teammate Valtteri Bottas failed to set a time as sensor issues limited the Finn to just three attempted out laps.
Yuki Tsunoda was 17th with the two Williams’ slowest as Alex Albon led Nicholas Latifi by four-tenths.
