Sergio Perez remains defiant over his future at Racing Point, claiming there's "no reason" to change drivers in 2021.

The Mexican's future at the team is still uncertain amid speculation linking Sebastian Vettel to his seat for the rebrand to Aston Martin from next season.

Earlier on Thursday, however, German TV channel RTL reported rumours of a deal being signed by the German this weekend in Belgium were wide of the mark.

And Perez remains confident of seeing out another year of his current contract.

"I think it is, as I've said before, a matter of time," he told the media at Spa-Francorchamps.

"I feel really happy in the team. I believe in the project, I've been here for a while, and I can see how the team is going upwards.

"We all feel internally that everything is working well.

"We don't see the reason why we should change anything. I don't see any reason to change. I think we are enjoying a great season on-track, and things are working really well in the team.

"I don't expect any change."

When the initial rumours emerged suggesting Racing Point owner Lawrence Stroll would activate a release clause in Perez's contract to sign Vettel, Checo revealed another team in F1 and others in different categories had voiced their interest in signing him for next year.

However, asked if he had advanced any of those offers, his answer was clear.

"No. The feedback that I get from within the team is that we all want to continue and that's where my confidence comes from, and where we stay calm," Perez said.

"It's a situation that is out of my hands, so I don't even bother at all. I focus on racing, enjoy it, and whatever happens, it's out of my hands, so I don't even give attention to it."
